  We were just passing by on the way to the castle and stumbled across Taste At No 1. The coffee and cake were excellent but what made it for us was the Gin selection and the chat with the owner/manager who is a great guy, very knowledgeable and friendly. Our challenge to him was to find a Gin my wife could drink as she is not really a gin fan. He SUCCEEDED!! ...with Bobbies Gin and G'Vine Floraison Gin (grape based) from France. I also discovered 1724 tonic which is probably the best tonic I've tasted (now Fever Tree is second best) and I have learned to be more careful over how much tonic I use and to think about an accompaniment (lemon, cucumber, crushed rosemary, olive etc) that would best suit the botanicals in the Gin. I also came away with two new Gins: Rock Rose from Scotland and No 209 from San Francisco.. We highly recommend stopping by here if you are a Gin lover!!
